A FREE, FAMILY FUN DAY FOR THE CENTRAL OHIO COMMUNITY!
Have you ever passed a construction machine working by the highway and wondered what it would be like to climb in the cab and operate one? Now you can find out how! Company Wrench and Taylor Rental of Lancaster are proud to announce the second annual Operator for a Day, a free, charitable event for all ages on September 25th through 27th at our headquarters located at 4805 Scooby Lane in Carroll, Ohio. Friday, September 25th will be VIP day, by invitation only, while Saturday and Sunday, the 26th and 27th, will be open to the general public. The event provides the opportunity for men, women, and children of all ages to climb behind the controls to see what it’s like to grade with a dozer, move scrap with a grapple, move metal with a magnet, dig with an excavator and operate a skid steer. There will be several staging areas with experienced operators to guide visitors and keep them safe while they operate the machines.
The first Operator for a Day drew a crowd of over 1,500 participants during the two days the event was held. Due to the unprecedented popularity of last year’s event, we are planning to draw up to 10,000 or more attendees this year over the course of the three days.
The event will also work to support local charitable organizations such as the United Way. Local charities are encouraged to register to be a part of the event and raise awareness for their cause. So far the event is being sponsored by Company Wrench, Taylor Rental and Taylor Rental Party Plus of Lancaster but we encourage other businesses to become sponsors as well. In addition to sponsors, we are also looking for volunteers, vans for the shuttle service, traffic control devices such as walkie talkies and most importantly, experienced operators.
To sign-up to participate in the event, become a sponsor or get information on becoming a sponsor, or to volunteer your time, vehicle or device, please contact Meghan Reta at
866-262-4181, on this page, or our facebook page, facebook.com/operatorforaday.
The event will run from 10 a.m.- 5 p.m. each day. Children 12 and under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian while on the grounds. Additional parking will be available at the Developmental Disabilities parking lot located on Coonpath Road with shuttles running to and from the event continuously throughout the day. Refreshments will be available for sale on-site by non-profit organizations. Come Rain or Shine!
